Foresters branches out with online sweepstakes

Foresters, the Toronto-based insurance and financial services company, is hoping to kindle new business with the launch of an online contest.

The "Reach for the stars" sweepstakes, a seven-month program running in both Canada and the U.S., offers prizes including cash and a luxury resort vacation to participants entering online at www.winningwithforesters.biz.

As a lead generation strategy, entrants are asked to complete a survey as part of their entry form, as well as to forward the contest information to friends and family for added chances to win.

Entrants are also offered a monthly e-newsletter containing financial tips as part of the effort.

The campaign, created by Toronto's N5R, includes targetted e-mail, direct mail, offline balloting and online banner ads.

The contest closes on Nov. 30.
